I have the 120GB Classic (6th Gen) and this case isn't going to cut it. There are 3 things about this case I can't live with:

1. The texture/feel of the case is creepy. It is like the powder coated rubber gloves that doctors wear. I'm constantly wiping my hands on my jeans after handling this case because it feels like there's a residue left on my hands.

2. The back of the case has an unusual ridge from top to bottom. It adds extra padding, but at the same time it doesn't allow your iPod to lay flat. It rocks around on this ridge of padding. If you're driving in your car and lay this thing on a flat surface, it will constantly rock and roll around on the ridge. I want my iPod to lay flat and not move; this case doesn't allow that.

3. The fit isn't great. At the top of my screen, the silicone piece that is supposed to cover the top edge of the iPod doesn't lay against the metal. It looks like it is peeling upward and I'm constantly pushing it back down. Also, the cut-out around the wheel doesn't lay flat either. One side of the material is always showing a gap.

I bought this case based on the fairly high reviews, but it didn't work out for me. I have an "Incipio" case on my nano ipod, and it fits much better (plus it doesn't have a creepy feel to it, and it lays flat!). The plastic screen protector does not stick all the way to the edges. My main gripe would be that the silicone sleeve is a dirt magnet! It'll attract lint and dust and kinda hard to clean off. I bought this because it was a "Glossy" protector, but quality is not there. I suggest looking elsewhere.

It is very smooth and i just love this case! It IS hard on the outside.. but it is a bit flexible in the sense that you can bend it a bit like you would to get cubes out of an ice tray. It has been dropped already many times and my ipod is fine! There is silicone on the inside to protect the ipod. This case is just perfect. Also, as a bonus, it comes with a screen protector, which Speck doesnt usually include. Just like any other screen protector, you get one shot, it might have bubbles or it might be perfect. I purchased the Speck CandyShell Case for my iPhone 3G S about 2 months ago and am VERY satisfied with my purchase. Prior to purchasing this case, I had a simple rubber case which provided good protection for my phone, but was a bit difficult to get out of my pockets of my jeans due to friction issues. While this case does have rubber around the entire opening, as well as on each corner, it easily slides in an out of my pockets. Of course, that means that is has a hard time staying put on slick surfaces, so you need to decide what your criteria are for a case and buy the appropriate one for you.

I love the design and appearance of this case. It really looks sleek, and it definitely provides protection for the phone. I have dropped my phone a couple of times on hard surfaces and this case didn't allow any damage to occur. Sadly, the back of the case does get a bit scratched up after time and it is not quite as sleek-looking as it was when it was new, but better that happens to the case than the phone, right?

I did not use the screen protector that came with the case as I already had one on my phone. Your screen protector will remain in place, and unaffected, when you put the case on. The case fits up to the chrome bevels on the phone, but does not obscure them. The tight fit of the case also prevents dirt from getting in along the edges and scratching your phone. But, you want to make sure there is no grit in the case before putting it on or the tight fit will then cause scratching.

I have read other reviews here that complain that the phone is difficult to remove from the case. While it is certainly more difficult than my old rubber case, it really is not bad. Just push on the Speck logo on the back with both thumbs and it pops right out.

My only complaint with the case is that the hole for the headphone jack is just a bit small and my headphones would not plug in snugly with this case. However, I was able to solve this by buying a Headphone Adapter for Apple iPhone Recessed Jack, 3.5mm Male Female Extension Plug - White which is a very inexpensive option.
