The charger cover on top of the batteries causes them to overheat and wear out very quickly. Charger can't be closed when charging, so it's basically not needed. People end up buying more and wearing out the batteries more quickly with this item. First Sony 2700 mAh batteries would only hold half a charge initially. Then in 3 months with fewer than 10 charges they wore out completely. Will see if 2nd set of Sony 2700 mAh last longer. Also, despite repeat calls and emails to Sony customer service for batteries and chargers, they don't respond to let me know where to exchange this item.
