This case is useful only as a means to protect the camera when you have it sitting on a shelf. It is not useful as a portable container for the camera when walking about. With a Canon SX20IS, the fit is very tight -- which is to say the lens hood needs to be turned backwards to even get the camera into the case (and even then the slight projection of the hood on the front of the lens makes the fit extra tight). And, if you happen to use a lens cap retainer, the small button that attaches to the lens cap makes the fit into the case a definite challenge. For a company that excels in the quality and value of its cameras, Canon sure did drop the ball with this case.
